Lawrence J. Song is a partner with the law firm of Epstein, Turner & Song, P.C. For over three decades, Mr. Song has dedicated his entire legal career exclusively to the practice of employment and labor law. Prior to Epstein, Turner & Song, Mr. Song was a shareholder/partner with the national employment and labor law firm Littler Mendelson. Mr. Song began his career in 1977 as an attorney with the National Labor Relations Board, Division of Advice, Division of Enforcement Litigation, and Region 21. During law school, Mr. Song was selected as a student intern in the NLRB Division of Advice.

Mr. Song has successfully handled employment and labor cases before state, federal and appellate courts, the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, the California State Labor Commissioner, and the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing. These matters include employment discrimination claims, sexual harassment claims, unfair labor practice charges, union representation elections, wage and hour claims, unfair competition and trade secret litigation, and wrongful termination lawsuits. The hallmarks of Mr. Song's practice are creative and cost-effective solutions to his clients' employment and labor relations issues.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

Mr. Song taught Labor and Employment Law at California State University, Northridge in the Human Resources Management Certification Program. Mr. Song was a Lecturer at the 3rd Annual Florida State Bar Annual Labor & Employment Law Certification Review. Mr. Song has been a speaker at the 15th Annual Conference of the Southern California Mediation Association, the 15th Annual Labor Law Conference of the Orange County Industrial Relations Research Association, the 11th Annual Personnel Law Update, the Littler Mendelson National Employer, the National Human Resources Association, the American Ambulance Association, and the Hawaii Employers' Council.

Mr. Song is the co-author of Personnel Impact: Traps and Pitfalls in Employee Layoffs , which was a featured article in the Los Angeles Lawyer Magazine (Vol. 24, No. 7, October 2001) and in the Computer & Internet Lawyer (Vol. 19, No. 1, January 2002). Mr. Song is a Contributing Editor to The Developing Labor Law (BNA). Mr. Song was Associate Editor on the Catholic University Law Review.

EDUCATION AND MEMBERSHIPS

Mr. Song is an honors graduate from Purdue University (B.A. 1974), and a graduate of Catholic University Law School (J.D. 1977). Mr. Song is a member of the American Bar Association, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He is a member of the California State Bar, Hawaii State Bar, and Virginia State Bar, and is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court and numerous federal district and appellate courts.
