AREAS OF PRACTICE

Jonathan M. Turner is a partner with the law firm of Epstein, Turner & Song, P.C. Mr. Turner began his career in 1981 as an attorney with the National Labor Relations Board, Region 21 (Los Angeles). Before entering private practice in 1988, he was staff counsel for the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, and corporate labor and employment counsel for Twentieth Century Fox. Throughout his career, Mr. Turner has represented management in all aspects of labor and employment law. A significant portion of his practice is in the motion picture industry, where he has represented studios and other employers in labor arbitrations, administrative proceedings, court litigation, union avoidance issues, and collective bargaining negotiations. Mr. Turner also has successfully defended employers at trial and on appeal in wrongful termination cases involving claims for racial discrimination, age discrimination, sexual harassment, and breach of employment contract.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

Mr. Turner has been a speaker at various training seminars and programs sponsored by the Council on Education in Management, and he has served on the California State Bar Committee for the development of a state certification program for labor and employment law practitioners.

Mr. Turner is the co-author of Personnel Impact: Traps and Pitfalls in Employee Layoffs , which was a featured article in the Los Angeles Lawyer Magazine (Vol. 24, No. 7, October 2001), and in the Computer & Internet Lawyer (Vol. 19, No. 1, January 2002).

EDUCATION AND MEMBERSHIPS

Mr. Turner is an honors graduate from California State University, Chico (B.A. 1978), and a graduate of the University of California Davis School of Law (J.D. 1981). He is admitted to practice before the California State Bar and numerous federal district and appellate courts. Mr. Turner is a member of the California Bar, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the John Langston Bar Association, and the California Minority Counsel Program.
